The “Buitenzaal” ... Extensive, spacious and beautiful

Meeuwenveen has gained an extra building. It stands, seamlessly adjoined to Building 2. Looking as though it’s always been there. It functions in tandem with Building 2, where all the main facilities are situated. Occasionally, larger groups have been forced to work in cramped conditions. This is now a thing of the past.

The “Buitenzaal” (180 m²) is suitable for at least one hundred people. Enhanced by the view of a private clearing in the forest, it is a beautiful, spacious, yet intimate space. There are often gasps of wonder when the doors open.

Facilities

• The hall was architecturally constructed by the most sustainable construction company in Drenthe. So top quality.
• There is a smooth, shiny, Marmoleum floor (cork) with underfloor heating. The energy for this is derived from a heating pump which can also be used for cooling.
• The music system offers an exceptionally refined quality. The microphones are wireless and the lighting is fully adjustable, even with additional colour if so desired.
• Thought has also been given to the various strategic places from where trainers can operate the equipment.
• With a silent, balanced ventilation system (non re-circulating) fresh forest air is permanently pumped into the hall. However, windows and doors can also be opened in the traditional way.
• The kitchen has been adapted for cooking for large groups. You can work efficiently with several people at the same time. With the powerful induction plates even the largest pan will come to the boil in an instant.

Sizes and numbers

• The room measures 12 × 15 meters (180 m²).
• It is suitable for a minimum of 100 people.
• At the entrance (18 m²) is a spacious wardrobe and there are facilities for connecting additional kitchen appliances. Think of cooling and freezer units, steamers, etc.
• A side door leads to the terrace by the dining area of Building 2.
• Extending from floor to ceiling, a glass wall offers a magical view of ferns, rhododendrons and the bright green of the surrounding meadow.
• Under wide awnings on both the east and west sides, it’s a joy to reside in the good company of nature and of course, one other.

Prices

For the hire of the “Buitenzaal” a special price applies. Contrary to the pricing of the other buildings, this is not based solely on the number of people. Further explanation is given under Rates.
